WOODEN BOX

BULBS OF ELSASS WHISKY

This wooden box – in the style of a cigar box – is an original gift, an invitation to discover our Elsass Whisky Single Malt ORIGINE.

Tasting

Appearance: a bright golden colour, limpid and brilliant with big long tears, sign of a great alcohol.

Nose: A powerful nose with a hint of roasted malt, slightly woody with a vanilla aroma, accompanied by the scents of ripe fruits, stewed or even candied (pear, mirabelle), and a touch of milky, buttery caramel: a powerful, rich and complex initial taste giving way to something smoother.

Palate: Hints of malted barley and cereals in the mouth, together with a suggestion of buttery and vanilla confectionery.  The mid-palate feel is round and rich.

Distillation and ageing

Elsass Whisky is obtained by the double distillation of a pure barley malt in line with the traditional method of the Lehmann Distillery. This pure barley malt is aged in white Bordeaux wine oak casks for 7 years.

Tasting tip

Elsass Whisky can be enjoyed as an aperitif or a digestive Serve chilled but, as with all high quality spirits, never with ice!

Because each gift is unique, each moment shared is precious, the Lehmann Distillery with its savoir-faire going back to 1850, has created for you an original collection devoted to the Art of Offering.

All our Eaux-de-vie are produced in conformity with the traditional, generations-old know-how passed down from father to son since 1850. Distillation is always carried out by a double passage through our copper stills.

The result of this distillation is fruit in its pure stage. Only the “warm heart” of the process – “le cœur de chauffe” – is kept at a high degree of alcohol to improve for a minimum of 3 years before bottling.

ALSATIAN RASPBERRY EAU-DE-VIE

TASTING

Appearance: translucent and brilliant with sparkling glints and beautiful tears.

Nose: intense bewitching bouquet of fresh raspberry.

Palate: velvety, soft and delicate with refreshing fragrant floral notes and a beautiful long finish.

DISTILLATION AND AGING

Alsatian Raspberry eau-de-vie is obtained by maceration and double distillation of the fruit. Aging at least for 3 years.

THE ART OF TASTING – MAKE YOUR SENSES COME ALIVE

It all begins with choosing a glass. Select preferably a tulip-shaped one, which will allow the eau-de-vie to express all its qualities. Then pour 2 to 3 cl of eau-de-vie into the chilled or frosted glass. As it warms up it will release all its quintessence, all its aromas, and your pleasure will be intense.

TASTING TIPS

As a digestive, this fragrant delicate eau-de-vie is perfect after a good meal.

As an aperitif, serve as a long drink or as a cocktail.

Cooking tips: this very aromatic eau-de-vie will embellish your desserts or could be served in the middle of the meal with a sorbet as an aid to digestion, like a “trou normand”.

Alsatian Kirsch (Cherry) Eau-de-vie

TASTING

Appearance: translucent and brilliant with sparkling glints and beautiful tears.

Nose: intense, fruity and very fragrant notes typical of the black cherry with a slight hint of kernel.

Palate: fruity with a beautiful fragrant delicacy, yet soft and elegant. A strong final impression of freshness with a lingering hint of kernel.

DISTILLATION AND AGING

This eau-de-vie, obtained by the double distillation of black cherries from Westhoffen (French), is one of the oldest since its origins go back to the 17th century. Aging at least for 3 years.

It all begins with choosing a glass. Select preferably a tulip-shaped one, which will allow the eau-de-vie to express all its qualities. ALSATIAN GEWURZTRAMINER MARC EAU-DE-VIE

TASTING

Appearance: translucent and brilliant with sparkling glints and beautiful tears.

Nose: this eau-de-vie is remarkable for its real palette of aromas, rich and intense, typical of the Gewurztraminer grape variety.

Palate: smooth with intensive notes of a beautiful aromatic complexity, a mixture of woody, spicy and fruity aromas with hints of cocoa beans, litchees and very ripe grapes. A final fullness with a splendid long finish.

DISTILLATION AND AGING

This eau-de-vie is obtained by a double distillation of Gewurztraminer marc, the emblematic grape variety of our region. Aging at least for 3 years.

THE ART OF TASTING – MAKE YOUR SENSES COME ALIVE

It all begins with choosing a glass. Select preferably a tulip-shaped one, which will allow the eau-de-vie to express all its qualities. Then pour 2 to 3 cl of eau-de-vie into the chilled or frosted glass. As it warms up it will release all its quintessence, all its aromas, and your pleasure will be intense.

TASTING TIPS

As a digestive, drink this eau-de-vie after a good meal or as an “Alsatian coffee” (like an Irish coffee but replacing the whisky by Gewurztraminer Marc eau-de-vie).

As an aperitif, serve as a long drink or as a cocktail.

Cooking tips: this eau-de-vie is ideal to “flamber” a munster (a typical cheese of our region), or to macerate the raisins we add to an iced kougelhof.

ALSATIAN MIRABELLE EAU-DE-VIE

Appearance: translucent and brilliant with sparkling glints and beautiful tears.

Nose: this eau-de-vie is notable for its exhuberant and fruity bouquet of very ripe fresh mirabelle plum.

Palate: a soft delicate smoothness gives way to very fragrant refined aromas and finally a beautiful long finish with a hint of kernel

This eau-de-vie is obtained by the double distillation of the fruit. Aging at least for 3 years.

WILLIAMS PEAR EAU-DE-VIE

TASTING

Appearance: translucent and brilliant with sparkling glints and beautiful tears.

Nose: this eau-de-vie is remarkable for its aromatic richness and intensity which fully characterize the williams pear.

Palate:  an incomparable fruitness! We almost feel as if we are biting into the pear and we can notice the typical granular aspect of the perfectly ripe and juicy williams pear. A long, lingering finish.

DISTILLATION AND AGING

This eau-de-vie is obtained by the double distillation of williams pears harvested in the Rhone Valley by a small partner/producer.  It is the eau-de-vie “par excellence”, its warm, cordial nature reflecting to perfection the richness of its region of origin. Aging at least for 3 years.

OLD PLUM EAU-DE-VIE

TASTING

Appearance: slightly golden (after time spent in a cask), brilliant with beautiful tears.

Nose: a soft warm fragrance with delicate hints of vanilla-flavoured almond, lightly caramelized.

Palate: silky and elegant with a beautiful intense flavour of very ripe plum and quetsch. And finaly a beautiful long finish with a slight suggestion of kernel.

DISTILLATION AND AGING

Old Plum eau-de-vie is obtained by the double distillation of a mix of different plums, the recipe for which is our well-kept secret. Aging at least for 3 years.

It all begins with choosing a glass. Select preferably a tulip-shaped one, which will allow the eau-de-vie to express all its qualities. Then pour 2 to 3 cl of eau-de-vie into the chilled or frosted glass. As it warms up it will release all its quintessence, all its aromas, and your pleasure will be intense.

As a digestive, drink this eau-de-vie after a good meal or sip it at the temperature of a cup of coffee in the Alsatian

As an aperitif, serve as a long drink or as a cocktail.

Cooking tips: this eau-de-vie is ideal to enhance your almond-based desserts (cakes, tarts, egg custards), as well as your fruit-based desserts such as apricot, apple and quetsch and also your ice creams or sorbets (cinnamon, quetsch, almond, apricot).
